The Swainsboro Rotary club met at the Rustic Grill during the noon hour on Monday, December 9, 2024. President Zack Proctor called the meeting to order, and the club recited the pledge and 4-way test. Harley Smith from East Georgia College introduced the speaker, Mary Grace Winfrey. Mary Grace is a student at East Georgia and is in the Criminal Justice Program to obtain her bachelor’s degree. She is a graduate of Johnson County High School and has been attending East Georgia college since her 9th grade year through the dual enrollment program. Mary Grace shared some of her experiences about the college and how it has benefited her and enabled her to apply for Law school. She has received several acceptance letters and is in the process of deciding which school to attend in the future. She is a great example of how a local college can benefit students and give them the opportunity to obtain a degree right here in our community. We are so proud of Mary Grace and what she has accomplished and know that she has a bright future.
Rotarians were reminded that next Monday, we will meet and wrap gifts for the ‘Christmas for Kids’ program that is sponsored by Rotary Club. The meeting was adjourned.
