The top ten African American trailblazers who are nominated by the community and chaired by a committee determine who gets the African American Trailblazer Award. These deserving awardees were selected by the community in appreciation of their commitment to our community and region. Quintus G. Williams, the youngest recipient of the award and the first from Emanuel County Schools, received the most nominations this year from prominent individuals and community leaders, adding yet an additional distinction to his name. Quintus Williams attends Swainsboro High School and is a senior at the moment. He has said that he is “building his legacy and standing on nothing but straight business” when asked in earlier interviews, “Why does he fight so hard for his success?” We truly are delighted with you. Quintus, congratulations! What a fantastic way to represent the African-American and Black Community, Emanuel County Schools, Swainsboro, Georgia, and most importantly, yourself. On February 24, 2023, Williams will receive commemoration at Hawk Points in Vidalia, Georgia.
