Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory announces the death of Mr. William George Woods, 56, of Lyons, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Claxton. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 25, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Joey Lamb officiating. Family received friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Saturday, January 25, from 12 to 2 p.m.
William was born in Okeechobee, FL, son of the late Albert Andrew Woods, Sr. and Venita Tant Woods. He was a very loving father to Drew and Amber. He loved his racing family and loved Saturday night at the track. Will was a mechanic and loved spending time with his brothers, Al and Lee, at the racecar shop working on a car to see how they could make it do better in turns. He was an animal lover and his fur babies, Puppy and Gizzie, will miss him dearly.
Survivors include his daughter, Amber Sweat; son, Drew Woods (Tessa); grandchildren, Emilee, Kailynne, Hadlee, TC, Cheyenne, Chris and Donovan; great-grandchildren, Jett, Eleanor and Nash; brothers, Lee Woods (Gale) and Albert Woods, Jr.; nephews, Dean, Kobe and Kane; nieces, Christa Braswell and Kristi Skipper.
