Veterans raise new U.S. Flag at Harmon Park

On November 11, 2024, at 10 a.m., 45 members of the Veterans at the Library group traveled to Harmon Park on Hwy 1 South to raise the first U.S. Flag on the newly erected 40′ Flagpole with a very large 8′ X 12′ flag. Thank you to the City of Swainsboro and the Emanuel County Commissioners for the new flagpole. Also in attendance was WJBF news crew out of Augusta that just happened to be in Swainsboro interviewing Veteran John Tapley. Businesses and citizens of Swainsboro, please pay attention to the condition of your flag and always fly it correctly.
