During the semi-annual Brier Creek Revolutionary War Battlefield Association, Inc. banquet held on September 6, 2024, at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Emory Fennell presented to Vice President Lee Herron and the Brier Creek Chapter, a portrait from Henry and Deborah Thompson of Swainsboro. This portrait map was originally produced and researched by the late Clyde D. Hollingsworth in 1953 and mailed by him to various recipients in and about Screven County. The map included in the mailed Christmas card was a simplified version of the map displayed on the Georgia State Historical marker, now located at the memorial located on the actual battlefield, describing the actions of the various forces engaged in the March 3, 1779, Battle of Brier Creek. A special thanks to Henry and Deborah for this donation.
