Mrs. Tera Hooks Claxton, 48, of Kite, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 13, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Lamar Kersey officiating. Interment followed in Kersey Cemetery. The family received friends Monday, February 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Kyle Hooks, Adam Hooks, Chris Mimbs, Wesley Smisson, Jason Martin and Ron Claxton.
Tera was born August 18, 1975, in Swainsboro, to Alton and Glynda Hooks. She graduated from Johnson County High School and Southeastern Technical College as a Licensed Practi-cal Nurse. Tera loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid fan of the Johnson County Trojans and Georgia Bulldogs. Tera religiously watched daytime talk shows and enjoyed heated blankets and warm socks. Her favorite food sharing partner was her couch buddy Bob (her pet dog). Tera enjoyed karaoke singing classic country songs even though she was tone deaf. She cared for and looked after everyone more than she did her-self. Tera will truly be missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Claxton is preceded in death by her mother.
Mrs. Claxton is survived by her father; husband, Clifford Claxton, III; son, Wade (Cheyenne) Claxton of Kite; daughter, Jada Claxton of Kite; brother, Rock (Cassie) Hooks of Kite; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
