The Swainsboro Tigers baseball team rolled through their non-region schedule with a solid 6-3 record, now get set to kick off their region slate. The Tigers will play Jefferson County for a three-game series this week, Tuesday and Thursday, at home, and Wednesday in Louisville. All games will begin at 5:30 p.m.
To close out the “preseason”, Swainsboro had their way with Jenkins County to the tune of a 16-3 route. The Tigers tallied nine hits and eight walks on offense, with Brice Marchman leading the charge with a double and triple to plate six runners. DJ Stanford also drove in two runs on two hits. Brice Chapman scored four runs for Swainsboro.
On the hill, Lenox Lively started the game and went two innings, allowing zero runs. Marchman, Chapman, Peyton Mason, and Kason Edenfield pitched in relief.
Jefferson County, Bleckley County, East Laurens and Dublin make up the region and will battle all season for a shot at the state playoffs.
