On Tuesday, December 14, 2024 the Swainsboro Exchange Club held its Christmas Ladies’ Night at the Cadle Barn. One of the highlights of the night was the presentation of the Book of Golden Deeds Award. This award is given out annually to a recipient who is sincere about helping the community, has an exceptional record of continued, unselfish giving and enjoys volunteering to help others. This should be someone who deserves acclaim for “Golden Deeds” that often go unnoticed.
This year’s recipient, Shari Gambrell Watt, is the epitome of the above stated requirements. She received overwhelming support by the Club Members and was a unanimous choice as the recipient of this award.
Shari is a member of the Emanuel County Historical Society Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Keep America Clean Campaign.

She is a volunteer and coordinator for the Gambrell Animal Shelter and does a weekly video which is posted on Facebook highlighting pups to be adopted.
Shari serves as the coordinator and glue that holds the Veterans of the Library Group together. They could not accomplish all that they do without her devoted assistance, including Wreaths Across America.
She is also an active member of the Swainsboro Methodist Church where she has served in many capacities for most of her life.
Gary Mason, Swainsboro Exchange Club President, remarked that it was an honor and a pleasure to present the Book of Golden Deeds to someone like Shari who is a humble and unselfish servant of the people and our community.
