April 1
Officer responded to N. Main St. in reference to complainant stating he is supposed to have custody of his daughter over the weekend, but the child’s mother refused to let him pick her up from school. C/p advised the mother dropped the daughter off on Saturday, which was not part of their agreement for custody.
Officer took a walk-in report where victim stated he bought two tags for his jet ski trailers and he was now unable to locate them.
Officer took a report where victim stated offender backed into his motorcycle.
Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to offender shoplifting. Officer was also advised that offender had been trespassed from the property. Officer approached offender and she grabbed her child and attempted to flee the store, causing a disturbance due to ignoring commands. Offender was apprehended and transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to N. Racetrack St. in reference to financial fraud. Complainant stated she received a 1099 from CashApp showing she earned $50,443.52 in 2024, but someone fraudulently used her account.
Officer responded to N. Racetrack St. in reference to a stolen cell phone. Complainant stated the father of her children went to her residence and grabbed her by the neck with both hands and choked her, then grabbed her phone and left.
April 2
Officer received a call about an 18-wheeler with a power line on top of it on Kite Rd. Officers responded and made contact with the driver who stated he hit the power line while turning.
Officer observed a vehicle a brake light out, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. The driver made an evasive left turn through a parking lot and continued to attempt to avoid the officer. Driver activated his emergency equipment, and the vehicle finally stopped. Due to the evasive maneuver, officer requested K9 unit for a free air sniff. K9 alerted on the driver side back door. During the search, a clear bag containing three individual bags of cocaine were found and a loaded Glock with one round in the chamber. Driver and passenger were transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer received a call in reference to a complaint from a citizen about the dumping of household materials and debris on his property. Officer responded to Curtis St. and spoke with complainant, then to Mason Dr. and spoke with the owner of the residence who stated he did not know about the debris but would get the people that keep his lawn cut to remove it and take it to the appropriate location asap.
Officers were dispatched to Lewis St. in reference to multiple shots fired. Complainant stated a group of males walked to the apartments and started shooting and ran in different directions. Six offenders were transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to KFC in reference to two individuals getting into an argument. Complainants stated offender got verbally aggressive by calling an employee names and spit in her face and causing a scene. Offender was GOA so officers went to her residence where she arrested for battery and transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to N. Main St. in reference to robbery. Complainant stated someone broke in and went through her things. C/p advised she is still moving in and knows of one thing missing but is unsure if anything was missing.
April 3
Offender was placed under arrest for failure to appear in Effingham Co.
Officers were dispatched to Enmarket in reference to a male subject causing a disturbance and yelling at a customer. Officers observed offender unsteady on his feet and he had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath. Complainant advised she wanted offender criminally trespassed for the property. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer responded to Lee St. in reference to someone trying to fight the caller. Complainant stated nine people were trying to jump him.
Officer responded to Modoc Rd. in reference to a traffic stop being conducted. Det. advised the vehicle was stopped in the middle of the traffic flow lane and had no valid insurance. Vehicle was towed.
April 4
Officer was dispatched to E. Moring St. to assist GSP on a traffic stop. Officer was informed that the driver had a warrant out for Effingham Co. and was being cited for driving with suspended license and no seatbelt. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer observed a vehicle with a non-working headlight, at which time he conducted a traffic stop. Driver stated he did not have his license on him, and they were found to be suspended.
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated he had been scammed.
Officer was dispatched to Barbara Ave. in reference to a dog at large. Complainant stated a dog ran up in a vicious manner and tried to attack him. Officer observed two dogs without leashes acting viciously. While waiting on Animal Control, c/p advised one of the dogs had bit him about two weeks ago, but he didn’t report it because he wanted to give the owner a chance to control his animals. AC1 arrived and took possession of one of the dogs. The owner was issued two citations for dogs running at large and was told to restrain his dogs.
Officer was dispatched to Booker St. in reference to damage to property. Complainant stated he takes care of the property on the weekends and was called by the neighbor’s due to someone attempting to steal window units from the residence.
Officer observed a vehicle with dark tint, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer made contact with the driver and observed a child crouched down under the front seat passenger’s legs and a child sitting in the floorboard under the back seat passenger’s legs. Officer could smell an odor of marijuana in the vehicle.
Officer observed a vehicle without operational taillights and fail to maintain its lane, at which time he initiated a traffic stop.
Officer observed a vehicle with no tag, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer asked the driver for his license, and he refused to give any form of ID or his name but gave officer paperwork through the barely opened window of the vehicle. Driver kept insisting he was not driving the vehicle, he was rather “traveling”. The vehicle was found to have no valid insurance. Driver was transported to EmCo Jail and the vehicle was towed.
April 5
Officer conducted a traffic stop on N. Coleman St. The vehicle was found to have suspended insurance, and the driver has suspended license. Driver was arrested and transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer responded to Lewis St. in reference to caller stating a male subject was hitting her and she wanted him gone. Officer made contact with the resident who stated there was no women in the house and allowed officers to clear the apartment. Officers found no female or signs of a female being there. The resident advised officers that someone had called 911 to his residence multiple times in the past few days at early hours in the morning. He was very upset with this incident and stated he was tired of people having him woken up and wasting officer’s time. Officer informed him that they would figure out who was calling and making false reports. Officers were able to call the number back and a female answered but would not provide them with a name or address. 911 advised officers that the caller had also given them a different name every time she called. After going back into service, 911 advised that the female called back stating she wanted to report someone trying to steal her car but would not give her name or address. Officer was able to make contact with the caller and she began to state that someone broke into her apartment and her car and people were going in her house and taking her phone, then advised she called 911 multiple times. Offender gave officers false info about herself. Offender was found to have a felony probation warrant through Burke Co. and they wanted a hold placed. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to N. Main St. in reference to caller finding a debit card. Caller stated she was at Citizen’s Bank ATM and found a debit card inside the machine.
Officer observed the driver of a vehicle to have suspended license and no seatbelt, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Driver was issued citations.
Officer responded to Mason Dr. in reference to multiple shots fired.
April 6
Officer initiated a traffic stop on Canoochee Rd. for speeding. The driver was found to have multiple warrants for her arrest through Laurens Co. It was confirmed that they wanted a hold placed her and she was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to Roadway Inn in reference to complainant stating someone knocking on his door. 911 advised the caller called several times and when they called him back, he would say everything was ok and not to send anyone and would hang up. Officer asked c/p for his name and he would not provide it so officer checked with the clerk who provided his info. Offender was found to be wanted through Walton and Monroe Co. and both wanted holds placed. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to N. Main St. in reference to theft of property. Complainant stated he discovered his window unit was missing.
Officer was dispatched to Enmarket in reference to a male subject being criminally trespassed a couple days ago and was back in the store. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer responded to E. Pine St. in reference to damage to a vehicle. Complainant stated an unknown vehicle hit her vehicle while it was parked and stated someone in a described vehicle left probably damaged it. A female from another apartment told officer she knows who drives the described vehicle and got upset when asked for the driver’s name and phone number and would not give the info. 911 advised officer that an irate caller called and stated that the driver of the vehicle was back and hung up on 911. Officers went back to the location and noticed that the female that 911 was speaking about was the neighbor that officer spoke with earlier. Officer spoke with a male who owns the vehicle and looked over the vehicle to find no damage. The neighbor kept yelling and talking loudly trying to provoke officers.
Officers were dispatched to Lee St. in reference to a fight. Officer activated his emergency equipment to help defuse the fight when he observed the large crowd in the middle of the road. Officer exited his vehicle and heard a female saying, “he had no business putting his hands on a child”. The male subject was detained and advised that other male subjects were hitting his niece, and he was trying to break it up when three boys began hitting him and pointed out one of them and he was detained. Officers began speaking to adults on scene and a young male subject was being irate and screaming profanity at law enforcement. Male subject was told to stop yelling and stop using profane language but continued to be obnoxious and was tasered. Officers were able to speak with other adults and gathered who offender was and he was transported to EmCo Jail. Others were released to parents due to being juveniles.
Officer responded to Oak Lawn Dr. in reference to someone knocking on complainant’s door and leaving. C/p stated she has been having problems with family members and is in the process of obtaining restraining orders and her cousin threatened her and harasses her through calls and texts.
Officer responded to Lindsey Rd. in reference to an unwanted person. Complainant stated her children’s father would not leave her residence but left before their arrival. C/p advised offender hit her in the head and showed officer a knot on her forehead. Officer asked if she needed EMS, and she stated no.
Officer observed a vehicle on N. Green St. with no tag lights, improper brake lights and improper taillights, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer could smell an odor of marijuana. The traffic stop was turned over to GSP and offender was arrested and transported to EmCo Jail.
