March 17
Officer responded to W. Moring St. in reference to EMS requesting an officer. Complainant stated she heard people in the woods. C/p advised she hired someone to help her clean her house and did not have any problems until she hired her.
Officers were dispatched to Moore Personal Care Home in reference to an unwanted individual. Offender was located walking and requested to be evaluated at EMC ER, so officer transported him.
Officer took a report where complainant stated she paid offender $375 to repair her vehicle and he did not repair it. In addition, c/p found a syringe in the center console that did not belong to her, and it was not in there when she dropped her car off to be repaired.
Officer took a report where complainant stated a WalMart employee was retrieving buggies from the cart return and hit her vehicle, causing damage to the door.
Officer took a report where complainant he has not received his tag in the mail.
Officer took a report where complainant stated he was stopped at the stop sign in WalMart parking lot and offender failed to stop, colliding into c/p’s vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to College St. in reference to a call about a child that received pills from a student at school. The child stated her friend placed the pills in her purse due to the friend knowing she was going to be checked for having a vape. The sock contained 143 pills mixed pills.
Officer observed a vehicle fail to make a complete stop at the stop sign, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. The passenger was found to be in possession of illegal items and was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to The Braswell House in reference to a resident being irate. Offender stated he and another resident of the rehab had a verbal altercation due to a threat. Offender was removed from the premises.
Officer was dispatched to Dawson St. in reference to an entering auto. Complainant stated he heard his dogs barking and went outside to find his truck doors open.
Officer was notified of an offender being stopped by Jefferson Co. SO who has felony warrants from SPD and wanted to know if they wanted a hold placed. JCSO was informed to place a hold. Offender was picked up and transported to EmCo Jail.
March 18
Officer was dispatched to East Stop in reference to a stolen vehicle. Complainant stated he and his wife are living separately, and his wife took his vehicle without his permission. C/p also stated he received a phone call that his wife was going to get their child out of school and take her to Mississippi. C/p also advised that his daughter’s piggy bank was busted up with all the money missing.
Officer responded to Popeye’s in reference to a disgruntled ex-employee showing out and threatening other employees. Complainant stated she wants offender trespassed form the location.
Officer was dispatched to Sunset Inn in reference to a female caller stating she needed law enforcement immediately. The female was distressed, and officer observed a male run south. Officer made contact with offender who was very irate and observed a knife handle sticking out of his pocket. Offender then pulled the knife out and pointed it at officer and officer was able to grab his arm and disarm the knife from his hand. Other officers arrived and gave verbal commands for offender to get on the ground and he refused, so officer deployed his taser. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to N. Racetrack St. in reference to caller stating someone had been robbed and guys were walking up the road with guns. Complainants stated they received a call stating that someone posted on Facebook that people were going to shoot up N. Racetrack St. Apartments as retaliation because of an alleged robbery that happened earlier in the night on Project St.
Officer was dispatched to New St. in reference to a domestic. Complainant and witness pointed down New St. saying, “that’s him that’s walking away”. Officer observed the male subject walking and drove to his location, and he started running away. Officer gave commands for offender to stop, at which point he did, and officer asked what was going on and he kept talking wildly and would not calm down. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
March 19
Officer was waived down by a male subject who stated he let his Shiatzu out to use the bathroom and observed a vehicle pull up, call the dog, began petting it, and put it in the vehicle. Officers observed the video footage of the incident and advised c/p that a report would be made. Within a few minutes of officers leaving, he received a call from c/p advised he located his dog and wished to have officers meet with him. C/p pointed out which vehicle was involved, so officers made contact with the vehicle and female. The vehicle had a temporary drive out tag displayed but when it was run, it came back to a different vehicle out of FL.
Officer responded to S. Main St. in reference to harassment. Complainant stated his ex was stalking him.
Officer responded to EMC in reference to an unwanted person. EMC Security stated offender entered the hospital cussing.
March 20
Vehicle pulled out in front of an officer without yielding the right of way, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer could smell an odor of alcohol coming from the driver’s person and observed his speech to be slow and he was very nervous. Driver stated he did not have his license on him, but he did have a license and provided a name and DOB. When running the info provided, nothing came back. Officer made contact with the driver again and confirmed his name and DOB and he gave the same info, so officer asked him to exit the vehicle. Everyone was asked to exit the vehicle due to drug related objects being observed inside the vehicle. A small bag of cocaine, small bag of marijuana, eight straws containing cocaine residue. Driver had suspended license and active warrants through ECSO, and they wanted a hold placed. All offenders were transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to Lambs Bridge Rd. in reference to a man sitting in the lane of traffic. The male subject stated he was just sitting to smoke and advised of the safety concerns.
Officer was dispatched to Peachtree St. in reference to a domestic dispute.
Officer transported offender to EmCo Jail due to not meeting her standards for probation.
March 21
Officer was dispatched to Modoc Rd. in reference to a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, two freightliners were fully engulfed. Complainant stated he was cutting something for a vehicle when sparks started flying and lit the brush on fire.
Officer was advised of an individual with an active warrant at JAG Probation. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
March 22
Officers were dispatched in reference to a domestic and a female was waving a gun around. Both offenders were transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to Subway in reference to an unwanted person harassing customers. Complainant advised offender has been going to the location multiple times over the past few days disturbing customers by throwing gang signs and using profanity. C/p advised she informed offender not to return to the establishment, but he doesn’t listen. Offender has already been given a trespass warning, so he was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to Fowler St. in reference to complainant stating the mother of their child was supposed to take the child to track practice but failed to do so. C/p advised he has full custody of the child by court order and wanted a report for the mother not following the court order.
Officer was dispatched to Braswell Blvd. in reference to two females trying to bust the window out of caller’s vehicle. Complainant stated the females just left and they also keyed her car.
Officer was dispatched to Abundance St. in reference to lost property. Complainant stated he lost his pocketbook that contained two cell phones and a phone charger.
March 23
Officer responded to Allen St. in reference to complainant’s boyfriend taking her car without her permission. Offender had suspended license, and felony warrants for his arrest out of Vidalia. Officer observed the vehicle on Modoc Rd., at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to Allen St. in reference to caller’s nephew hitting on a child.
Officers were dispatched to N. Racetrack St. in reference to a group of male subjects selling drugs.
Officer was dispatched to Lucky Spot in reference to complainant being struck in the head by a can. C/p stated she had been in an ongoing argument with her sister, and she attempted to leave their shared residence when her sister became upset and threw a can at her, striking her in the head. Offender stated her sister ran over her foot with the vehicle which caused her to throw the can, but it did not strike her but made contact with the vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to McLeod Bridge Rd. in reference to shots being fired. Officer was informed by several residences of the area that they heard several gun shots come from a wooded area. Officer was unable to locate any indication of a shooting. Officer spoke with someone of the area who stated he wasn’t home but has heard shots towards the bypass or possibly the firing range at the jail sometimes.
Officer observed a vehicle traveling without lights on, at which time he made a traffic stop. The driver’s license was suspended, so he was cited and called someone to drive the vehicle home.
