February 29
Officers were dispatched to S. Main St. in reference to a theft. Complainant advised half of the materials for putting a new roof on the church were missing.
Officer responded to Hickory Trace Cir. In reference to a juvenile reporting her mother was drinking and driving and almost got into a car accident with a semi. Officer observed the vehicle in the roadway and the driver was asleep. Officer woke the driver up and while speaking with her, he could smell an odor of alcohol coming from her breath with glazed eyes and slurred speech. Officer asked the driver how much she had to drink, and she stated nothing so he asked if she had taken any medication and she stated she had taken some pain medicine earlier. Officer then asked for her license, and she stated she wasn’t driving and stepped out of the vehicle and was stumbling. Offender refused to give blood and breath sample and was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer met with complainant at SPD in reference to damage to her vehicle. Complainant stated her vehicle was parked at Dollar Tree and someone hit it.
Officer responded to Ralph Smith Pl. in reference to stolen property. Complainant stated two electric grills, two impact drills and a nail gun were taken out of his work van and stated he suspects a known male subject stole them because c/p owes the male subject money from a job he helped him with.
March 1
Officer observed a vehicle on King Circle Dr. traveling at 41 MPH and failing to maintain its lane of travel, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer asked the driver for his license, and he stated he did not have them on him but provided his name and DOB. Officer ran the driver’s license to find they are suspended and returned to the vehicle and advised the driver of his findings and he stated he was not aware of them being suspended. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
March 2
Officer responded to Center St. in reference to a 911 call which advised that c/p could hear a man and woman arguing but the line disconnected. Upon arrival officer spoke with c/p who was crying and stated that her ex-boyfriend knocked on her door and when she answered pushed into the residence. When asked where the offender was, she advised that he left when she called 911. She advised that he attacked her and tore off her wig and once she was on the ground, began choking her. Victim lacked physical evidence and was advised to get a restraining order.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was going 65 in a 35 MPH zone. Upon making contact with the driver, officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The passenger stated that they had been at a friend’s house smoking. Due to the offender admitting to being in possession of the marijuana, she was placed under arrest and the driver was issued a citation for speeding.
March 3
Officer conduced a traffic stop on a vehicle with a cracked windshield and not having any visible tag lights. An odor of alcoholic beverage was coming from the driver, so he was asked to step out of the vehicle. A clear plastic bag of a leafy substance was found on his person also. Offender was placed under arrest. Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no valid registration. Officer could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage and observed that the driver’s eyes were glazed, and she was slow of speech. A field sobriety test was conducted in which the driver failed. She was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Officer responded to S. Main St. in reference to a fight involving weapons. Upon arrival, officer met with c/p who advised that her son got angry and punched the driver’s side window of her vehicle causing it to break. It was also advised that offender handed his girlfriend his handgun and told her to get rid of it before police arrival. All offenders were arrested and transported to Emanuel County Jail for booking.
Officers responded to W. Church St. for someone eating raw chicken. Upon arrival officers observed offender getting angry with an officer and offender began cussing and beating the lid of a trash can. Offender was handcuffed and arrested for disorderly conduct.
Officer was dispatched to Lucky Street in reference to damage to a vehicle. Offender was standing at the door upon arrival and stated that he had an argument with someone at his house who did not belong there. When returning to SPD, c/p stated that he was instructed to pick up a woman and her baby to take them to Statesboro he stated that when he arrived, he was approached by a man who told him he had to leave. As he went to leave, offender threw something at his vehicle, busting his passenger side taillight. He advised that he wanted to press charges. Upon returning to the residence offender was arrested.
March 4
Officer was approached at SPD by c/p wanting to file a report. They stated that while leaving the probation office they were approached by a man who threatened them. They had recently let a friend stay at their residence and that friend has people wanting to cause him harm and this is affecting them as well.
Officer took a walk-in report in reference to terroristic threats and acts. C/p advised that offender approached him on Green Street and threatened to harm him because he stole from her.
Officer was dispatched to Powell Street in reference to trespassing. Officer met with c/p who stated that offender backed into the driveway and turned his vehicle around. She advised that he has signed a criminal trespass warrant stating that he will not enter the property. Camera footage showed offender committing the act, but contact could not be made with him.
Officer responded to Mable Ave. in reference to a report of damage to a vehicle. C/p advised that she hit a pothole, and it busted her tire. Pothole was unable to be located.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign. When running the driver’s license, it came back with no valid insurance and suspended registration. Offender was issued three citations.
March 5
Officer ran a vehicle with no insurance and a wanted registers owner. It seemed that the offender was making different turns to avoid officers. He was pulled over and was detained. A brown piece of paper with white residue was located which was believed to be meth. Officer was advised that it was not enough and was disposed of. Offender was arrested.
Officer took a walk-in report in reference to damage to vehicle. C/p stated that he noticed damage on his passenger side back door when he went to take the vehicle to get washed but could not remember where it would have happened.
Officers were dispatched to Poplar St. in reference to an active domestic. Upon arrival a vehicle was spotted but when asked to stop they fled the scene. Offender stated that next door there was a fight in which the male had a knife. Officer was informed that the offender was the one in which he was speaking to. Offender was detained and yellow bags containing white powder were discovered along with a clear plastic bag.
Officer was positioned in the court room of SPD. A hearing for a probation violation was taking place and offender was placed under arrest.
