December 7
Officer was dispatched to Rentz St. in reference to an employee of the Water Department advising a lock was placed on the water meter due to payments no being made and when he checked the meter, the lock had been broken off the meter. C/p advised officer a new lock would be put on the meter.
Officer observed a vehicle failing to maintain lane and ran the license plate to find the vehicle had no insurance and suspended registration, at which time he initiated a traffic stop.
Officers were dispatched to WalMart in reference to shoplifting. Complainant advised offender skip-scanned $124.95 in merchandise. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer received a call about a report at Harmon Park. Complainat advised he was taking a couch from his residence to a storage unit and as he turned onto S. Main St, he noticed the couch was gone. C/p advised by the time he turned around to go back to where the couch came off at, victim hit the couch, causing minor damage to her vehicle.
Officer met with complainant on McLeod Bridge Rd. in reference to a theft. C/p advised someone entered her residence and took a 65” TV and believes offender is her ex-boyfriend.
December 8
Officer responded to WalMart in reference to money that was left at the self-checkout and stolen. Complainant stated she got $100 cash back and walked away from the checkout and realized she left her cash so she went back in and the cash was gone. Officer got APA to pull the footage and observed a male subject take the money and put it in his pocket. Offender was unable to be located.
Officer met with complainant on Maurice Dr. in reference to her neighbor intentionally letting his dogs out of the residence when c/p is outside walking her dog and chases her down the street in an aggressive manner.
Officer was inside WalMart when he was advised of a shoplifter inside the store. Complainant advised the male subject shoplifted the day prior and was back in the store. C/p stated he observed offender put items in his walked and go past the point of sale with it. Officer made contact with offender who advised he stole the items because he was hungry. The items he stole were a drill set and a bullseye pro, and no food was in his walker. The items stolen were valued at $114.84. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer responded to S. Green St. where complainant stated his ex-girlfriend went to his residence and accused him of owing her friend money and has been constantly calling him for two weeks. C/p stated he does not owe anyone money and the ex-girlfriend only wants money for drugs. C/p advised he wants his ex to leave him alone.
Officer responded to Seventh St. in reference to a dispute between brothers. Complainant stated his juvenile brother was in a crisis and was out of control and threatened him. Officer spoke with the juvenile brother who stated he was arguing with is grandmother when his brother butted in and they got into an argument.
December 9
Officer observed a vehicle with no working rail lights, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Upon running offender’s license, it was determined that she had suspended license. Offender was placed under arrest and transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer observed a vehicle traveling 53 MPH in a 40 MPH zone, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer approached the driver side of the vehicle and could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and noticed the driver’s eyes were blood shot and sleepy looking. Officer then asked the driver how much he had to drink and he stated not much, 3-4 beer. Offender was asked to exit the vehicle and perform a field sobriety test and he complied. He was then asked to do the PBT and it took several attempts to give enough breath sample to show positive. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to N. Main St. to assist EMS in reference to a female hyperventilating and unresponsive on the side of the highway. Victim was laying on her back moaning and breathing erratically. Officers got her on her side and could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her person. Officers attempted to ask her name but could not get her to respond. EMS arrived and they got her onto a stretcher and she woke up and became combative and they were trying to keep her from falling off the stretcher as Ems buckled her in. Victim was transported to EMC ER for evaluation.
Officer responded to WalMart in reference to complainant advising he lost his cellphone at the dumpster on Mt. Shady Church Rd. and went to Verizon to see if they could pong the location and it was pinging in WalMart parking lot. The phone was observed in the passenger seat of a vehicle. The owner/driver of the vehicle exited the vehicle and explained he recovered the phone on the ground in front of the dumpster and believed it to be junk as it was locked and he had no use for it. Offender stated he did not know it was theft by taking from the trash dump.
Officer received a call about an animal complaint. Complainant stated offender’s bulldog keeps going in his yard causing issues on his property. Officer made contact with offender and issued him a citation for dog at large.
Officer responded to the area Youngblood and Mason is reference to shots fired.
December 10
Officer was dispatched to McMillan Dr. in reference to a 911 hang-up call. Complainant advised everything was ok until offender started drinking and pulled her hair. Offender was taken into custody and transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer responded to Mason Dr. to speak with complainant in reference to shots fired in the area. C/p stated she heard a single shot that sounded like a shotgun and was scared for her children being in the area.
Officer responded to S. Green St. in reference to complainant contacting 911 in reference to the welfare of two dogs tangled up in the rain. Officer observed the dogs on separate runners with no shelter in the heavy rain and could not get to their water buckets and their food bowls were turned over. Officer attempted to make contact with the resident and could hear movement inside but nobody would go to the door so she dispatched for Animal Control to respond. AC1 advised he had been to the resident numerous times. The dogs were turned over to AC1 and citations will be issued.
December 11
Officer was dispatched to SPD to take a walk-in report. Complainant stated he lives on Friendly Way and his neighbor has numerous cats loose and have been jumping on his vehicle scratching it.
Officer was dispatched to Powell St. in reference to complainant stating he went to check his mail and his neighbor’s dog ran up to him and started growling at him and stated this is not the first time this has happened. Offender was issued three citations.
Officer spoke with complainant who stated she wanted to file a report of harassment from a co-worker.
Officer was dispatched to Seventh St. in reference to an irate 16-year-old. Officer spoke with offender who stated he and his brother got into a verbal altercation. Victim stated offender has some mental health issues.
December 12
Officer was dispatched to Price St. in reference to a verbal dispute. Complainant stated she was across the road from offender’s residence and offender went in the yard and started recording her vehicle with her children inside. C/p stated she took her children inside and went back outside to confront offender and a verbal altercation started and offender spit in the direction of c/p. Offender was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.
Officer was dispatched to Center St. in reference to a harassment complaint.
December 13
Officers responded to Grady St. in to meet with a female who was attacked by a dog while walking down the street. Victim advised the dog is known to be aggressive and has bitten several people in the past and the owner of the dog allows the dog to run loose. Officer approached the owner’s yard and the dog aggressively charged at him and he pulled his taser and the dog ran away in fear. Officer then attempted to make contact with the owner but was unable to so AC1 was notified and captured the dog.
Officer spoke with complainant in reference to transactions made on her bank account. C/p stated someone withdrew $450 and $352 out of her account.
Officer was dispatched to Victory Dr. in reference to a call about workers not feeling safe. Multiple witnesses stated this is not the first time there has been an altercation between the two subjects.
