January 4
Officer observed a vehicle on Hwy 56 North traveling 68 MPH in a 45 MPH zone, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle and the driver advised she had not been smoking, and the vehicle was a rental. Driver was asked to exit the vehicle, and a search was performed to find a blunt on the center console. Officer observed a driver without a seatbelt on, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle was found to have invalid insurance. Vehicle was towed.
January 5
Officers were dispatched to Gumlog Rd. in refence to a verbal dispute.
Officers were dispatched to Gumlog Rd. in reference to an unruly juvenile. Complainant/legal guardian of juvenile, had an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. C/p stated individuals went to his residence and threatened to shoot it up because the juvenile broke into a car and stole a phone and a pound of marijuana. When the juvenile got home, c/p questioned him, and he denied all accusations and c/p got mad and stated that the juvenile was lying.
Officer was working detail and observed a vehicle pull into a parking spot and when officer’s vehicle became visible, the driver backed out and traveled against the flow of traffic. Officer stopped out of sight and the vehicle returned to a different parking spot and parked. Officer pulled in behind the vehicle and the driver got out and started walking to the back door. Officer exited his unit and asked the driver for his ID and why he was avoiding him. Driver stated he did not have his ID on him, so officer asked for his name and DOB. There was a male passenger in the vehicle with two cases of beer between his legs. Officer could smell an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officer walked to his unit to run the driver’s info, and the passenger got out and ran. Driver identified the passenger. Officer searched the driver to find a clear plastic bag with white residue powder in it suspected to be cocaine and a plastic pipe with copper mesh in it that had been used. Officer asked 911 to run offender who ran, and he came back with an active warrant from Bulloch Co. for burglary and they wanted a hold placed on him.
January 6
Complainant stated she received her Verizon bill and it was higher than expected and noticed she was being charged for a tablet but has not added, purchased or authorized the addition of a tablet.
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated she had one transaction on her EBT card for $536 that she did not use.
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated her EBT card was used in New York.
January 7
Officers were dispatched to College St. in reference to the door on a rental property being kicked in.
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated she noticed her Apple watch was missing from her residence. C/p stated she had not had any company, but she could have dropped it in her yard while getting out of her car and when she checked the location, it showed somewhere around Gumlog Rd. and Brown St., then West St. and Shearhouse St. Officers went to the location and spoke with the homeowner who stated multiple times that nobody was inside his home with him and that he was unaware of any watch. Officers entered the house and watched the location of the watch move from the rear of the house to the front corner of the house. Officer made contact with a female in the front room of the home who stated she was unaware of the watch and stated she did not have one and did not know where one may be. After briefly asking the female about the watch, a male subject entered the room and withdrew consent. Officers exited the house and left the property, and a c/p left and went across the road and contacted officers and stated that while she was across the road, she saw the female exit the residence and the male subject got out of a semi-truck and they both got in a vehicle and left. C/p stated when they left, the watch location moved with the vehicle and went to the area of Wrens St. and Gumlog Rd. for appx. 4 hours and returned to the residence on Shearhouse St.
Officer was dispatched to Kwik Shop in reference to an incident that happened a few days prior. Complainant stated he was receiving threatening text messages. C/p advised he was at Kwik Shop getting diesel when offender walked up behind him with a gun in a hoodie and threatened him. C/p advised offender is mad because c/p use to see offender’s girlfriend over a year ago and he won’t let it go and keeps harassing him. Officer spoke with offender who denied all accusations and stated c/p is following his 9-year-old on TikTok and he told c/p to leave his daughter alone.
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated a vehicle rear ended her at McDonalds.
Officer was dispatched to Northside Beverage in reference to theft of a debit card. Complainant stated he took a friend to the store the day prior to get some medicine then noticed transactions for Northside Beverage. C/p stated he contacted the friend who denied any purchases made with the card. Officers are waiting to see video footage.
Officer was contacted by employee of SECRD regarding damage to property at the baseball complex bathrooms.
January 8
Officer took a report from complainant concerning neglect of a disabled adult. C/p advised she’s observed victim laying on her front porch while temperatures were below 40 degrees.
Officers were dispatched to Summit Ave. in reference to a dog at large and tried to bite an individual.
Officer was alerted by his tag reader of a vehicle with suspended registration and no insurance, at which time he initiated at traffic stop. Officer observed an open container in the driver seat and one in the floorboard. Officer asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and while running her license, it was found to be suspended. Vehicle was towed.
Officers were dispatched to a call concerning a female juvenile walking and was being followed by a car and appeared to be bleeding. Officer observed the situation and pulled over and asked the juvenile to come to him and she turned and started walking away while ignoring verbal commands to stop. Officer was able to restrain juvenile and she was not responding verbally and continued to pull away and tried to hit and bite officers. Officers detained juvenile so they could check on her arm bleeding and EMS was called due it bleeding heavily, then applied pressure until it was controlled. Officers observed multiple scratches on her arm that appeared to be self-inflicted. Officers went to juvenile’s residence and spoke with her parents and juvenile told an EMT that she swallowed a piece of glass. The mother advised the juvenile has been dealing with mental health issues and has run away 3-4 times since September.
January 9
Officer took a walk-in report and was advised complainant had warrants for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers performed a welfare check on Youngblood St.
January 10
Officer ran the tag, and the registered owner came back with suspended license, at which time he initiated a traffic stop.
Officer was dispatched to S. Main St. in reference to a problem with a person. Offender was issued a criminal trespass notice and informed not to return to the property.
