December 20
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated she has a restraining order on offender signed by the courts, and she shows up at c/p’s job before hours.
Officer was dispatched to Crump St. in reference to someone wanting to harm themself. Complainant stated the subject lost her mother last year and has been having suicidal thoughts. Subject was transported by EMS to EMC. Officer followed the subject to the ER due to her wanting to talk about the issue. Subject stated staff at the Care Home has not been mistreating anyone, she’s just concerned about people being in the kitchen that doesn’t supposed to be and people not being able to take their meds whenever they want, and she gets yelled at by the owner.
Officer was dispatched to Lucky St. in reference to a burglary. Complainant stated he arrived home and found his rear door open and his residence in complete disarray. Officer observed several security cameras around the residence and c/p advised he would get the footage to him. C/p supplied SPD with footage and observed three male subjects enter the residence.
Officers were dispatched to WalMart in reference to a possible hit-n-run. Complainant stated he noticed what looked like where a vehicle crashed into his vehicle. Officer reviewed video footage and did not see where any other vehicle crashed into c/p’s vehicle during the time he was at WalMart.
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated he received a summons for Magistrate Court about a credit card that was taken out in his name and the statements are being sent to a Columbus, GA address.
Officer was dispatched to Advance Auto Parts in reference to a theft. Complainant stated he left his wallet on the counter and when he returned to get it, he was told that the store did not have it. C/p left the store and returned to inquire about it again and his wallet was returned to him by the active store manager. C/p checked his wallet and found that $75 was missing. Officer spoke with the active store manager who stated a female subject went in the store to return a lost wallet that was found in the parking lot and the manager placed it in the safe until the owner returned to get it.
Officer was dispatched to Roadway Inn in reference to a domestic disturbance. He made contact with three juveniles who stated offender had been drinking alcohol and when complainant entered the room, offender began throwing items around while shouting profanity and they exited the room. Officer spoke with c/p who stated offender became upset and started throwing things and called her derogatory names. Officer then spoke with offender who claimed he attempted to understand why c/p was upset but she refused to explain and he became frustrated and began throwing items in the room. Offender was placed under arrest and transported to EmCo Jail.
December 21
Officer was dispatched to Brown St. in reference to an unwanted person. A male was standing on the front porch and informed him that complainant did not want him at the residence or on the property. Offender was already aware of his presence being unwanted and stated that he will continue to return to the residence. Offender was placed under arrest and transported to EmCo Jail. C/p advised she had an active TPO against offender.
Officer was dispatched to Church St. in reference to a domestic disturbance. The caller reported hearing a female screaming and stated the noise had woken them from sleep. Officers heard a female screaming for help and began to breach the front door. The female opened the door and informed officers that offender was inside attempting to run out the back and had a knife. Officer escorted the female outside and offender came from the back room. Officer then drew his handgun due to offender being armed and he did not comply with verbal commands. Officer then drew his taser and offender complied by laying on the ground. Victim stated the male subject arrived at her door and despite the initial hesitation, she let him in. Once inside, he began to hit her and argue with her and when law enforcement arrived, he grabbed a knife and held it to her. Offender claimed victim called him over and became violent after discovering something on his phone and she began hitting him in the head. There were no visible marks on the female and the male had one small scratch near his eye. Offender was served a CTW on 6/27/24 and was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer observed a vehicle with suspended registration, at which time he conducted a traffic stop. The driver advised he just bought the vehicle and provided a title. Officer ran the driver’s license to find he had outstanding warrants in Toombs and Treutlen County, and both wanted to place a hold on offender. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer observed a vehicle with expired registration, no insurance and the owner had active warrants, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer made contact with the driver to find it was not the registered owner. Vehicle was towed and the driver was given a ride home.
Officer observed a vehicle go through the intersection just as the light turned red, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer was informed by the dispatcher that the vehicle did not have valid insurance and the registration was suspended. Officer approached the driver and informed him of the findings and the driver stated he would renew the insurance. Officer issued citations and the driver provided him with updated insurance info.
December 22
Officers were dispatched to Harvey’s in reference to a male trying to sell an off-duty officer Snap benefits. Offender stated he did not try to sell his Snap benefits. Officer advised offender stated he would sell his benefits for $70 and when he was told no, he reduced it to $50. Offender’s Snap card was seized, and he was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to E. Pine St. in reference to complainant stating she received a call from an unknown male subject who told her she needed to get her 11-year-old out of Swainsboro. C/p advised she’s had issues with a female subject but doesn’t know if she had somebody do it for her.
Officers were dispatched to S. Anderson Dr. in reference to a theft. Victim stated a package was delivered that was supposed to have an Apple watch in it and when he opened it. He advised the box was sealed but when he opened it, the watch box was open, and the watch was missing. Victim advised he contacted Apple, and they advised him they would report it to their theft department and lock the watch down so it could not be activated.

Officer was notified by 911 that OPPD was out with offender who was wanted from SPD. OPPD was advised to place a hold, so OPPD transported offender to EmCo Jail.
December 23
Officers were dispatched to S. Coleman St. in reference to a vehicle that ran into the ditch with a child in the vehicle and the driver was intoxicated. The driver stated she went to make a u-turn and got stuck. Officer observed her eyes were bloodshot red and her speech was slurred and very unsteady getting out of the vehicle. As she walked, she lot balance several times and almost fell. Officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol on her person and asked if she drank anything and she stated she drank earlier in the morning. Driver was asked to blow into the PBT and she agreed, blowing way above the limit. Offender was placed under arrest and transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer responded to a medical call on Harmon Rd. to assist EMS with gaining entry into the residence for a life assist. Victim was assisted off the floor and advised she was not injured and refused transport by EMS. Officer observed the residence was in a state of disarray with a lot of clutter and just small paths to walk through. Officer made contact with a family member who advised they were not aware of the house situation because victim would always stop them at the door when they visited. Officer called GA APS at the request of the family member.
Officer responded to Moring St. in reference to an unknown person beating on her door. Victim stated after reviewing her doorbell camera, the individual was her ex-boyfriend. Victim stated she has had this issue before, and SPD has been contacted over similar occurrences with offender.
Officer responded to Lee St. in reference to a dispute. Complainant advised she got into a verbal argument with offender when she went to pick up her child. C/p advised it became physical because offender took her phone and threw it.
Officer observed a vehicle riding the center line and weaving, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer immediately observed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and the driver’s eyes were bloodshot. Driver advised he smoked about 20 minutes prior to the stop and admitted marijuana was in the vehicle and stated he was aware he was “stoned” at the time of the stop. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer observed a vehicle without a tag, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer made contact with the driver and asked for his license at which he responded they were expired. Driver stated he just bought the vehicle and went to get insurance but was advised they could not insure him until the title was taken to the tag office. Officer ran the driver’s license to find it had been expired since 2001. Officer called for the next listed wrecker and the driver was issued citations.
December 24
Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a walk-in report. Complainant stated an unknown person used her D-Snap in another state of $193.07.
Officer was dispatched to N. Green St. in reference to complainant stating she borrowed a bicycle from an acquaintance, and she returned it but he wasn’t home. C/p advised she began getting messages from him that he had not received his bicycle and wanted it back. C/p stated she was informed that the acquaintance’s sister entered her home and began looking for the bicycle. The acquaintance arrived at SPD and stated he let c/p borrow the bicycle and the bicycle that was returned was not his and a male subject began to message him on Facebook and threaten him.
December 25
Officers were dispatched to New St. in reference to two individuals fighting. Complainant advised he was walking and someone hit him in the face. C/p had an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and officers did not observe any signs of bruising or swelling on his face. Individuals at a residence asked to speak with officers and stated c/p tried to swing on him. C/p then started walking towards the residence and was given verbal command not to. Officer went to retrieve his PBT to perform on c/p and he proceeded to turn around and walk towards a residence and was advised to stop and he ignored the command. C/p resisted and snatched away from officer as he as assisted to the ground. C/p was transported to EmCo Jail.
December 26
Officer observed a vehicle with expired registration, at which time he performed a traffic stop. Driver is a known as a user, dealer and manufacturer, therefore K9 was requested. K9 alerted and a large glass pipe containing drug residue was found.
Officer responded to Family Dollar in reference to shoplifting. Witness advised offender was standing at the side door holding a clear plastic tote full of merchandise and told offender to come back inside and he ran out to a vehicle and threw the tote inside the vehicle and sped off. Witness was able to describe the vehicle with the tag number. Officers were able to run the vehicle’s tag number and pull a male subject up as the registered owner and was identified as the shoplifter.
Officer was contacted about offender with warrants. Officer was able to get confirmation that he had active warrants and was placed under arrest and transported to EmCo Jail.
December 27
Officer ran the tag of a vehicle to find it had suspended registration and the owner had suspended license, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Vehicle was searched to find two firearms, several rounds of ammo and two magazines. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
