April 15
Officer was dispatched to STC in reference to needing a student escorted off campus. Offender threatened students and a teacher and received a criminal trespass from STC.
Officer was dispatched to Thompson’s Mini Mart in reference to damage to property. Complainant stated a utility truck struck a light on the canopy over the gas pumps. The issue was settled without an accident report.
Officer observed a driver not wearing a seatbelt, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. When the vehicle came to a stop, officer observed the driver lean over to the right reaching in the passenger seat. Officer made contact with the driver who informed he did not have his license on him and provided his name and DOB. Officer then observed two cylinders labeled UN1070 food grade nitrous oxide commonly used to inhale to get high in the passenger seat. Officer started back to his vehicle and quickly turned back to see what offender was doing and he was leaned over in the passenger seat again then reached to the left of his driver’s seat. Officer immediately went back to the vehicle and asked the driver why he was leaning over and observed a marijuana bud on the passenger seat. Offender grabbed one of the cylinders then placed it back in the seat. Officer
asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, which he did, and was brushing something off of him. Officer placed offender in handcuffs due to the marijuana bud and looked down and saw a plastic bag containing marijuana on the carpet between the driver seat and door. Officer then called 911 for additional units and placed offender under arrest. During the search, scales were found on the ground on the passenger side. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to caller needing to talk to an officer about a TPO. Complainant stated she had a TPO on her husband and stated she went inside WalMart with her 10-year-old daughter and left her teenager in the vehicle with her 4-year-old. C/p’s teenage daughter stated she was in the vehicle and noticed offender’s truck and saw him go behind the strip mall and come back around by Little Ceasars at the stop sign, stop and pop open the trunk of c/p’s car, then speed off. C/p stated offender has a key to her car and house but when asked about them, he denies it. C/p stated offender has tried to contact her multiple times and has been messing with her vehicle with the key fob, such as turning the alarm on, opening and closing the doors and opening the trunk. C/p also stated offender has been going inside the home, leaving the doors open. C/p advised they are in the process of divorcing due to a domestic incident. Officer was able to capture offender’s truck on camera footage just as described.
April 16
Officers were dispatched to Murphy USA in reference to theft of fuel. Complainant stated the vehicle was currently parked in a nearby parking area and suspects offender to be employed by WalMart. C/p advised offender has committed multiple thefts using two different vehicles described with tag numbers. Surveillance footage reviewed by officer corroborated the information provided by c/p. Officers located the vehicle and made contact with the female driver who admitted to committing the fuel thefts totaling $99.65 on three different days. Prior to booking offender, c/p agreed to accept payment for the stolen fuel in lieu of prosecution and offender was released to her father.
Officer was dispatched to Quick Clean Laundry in reference to a call. Complainant stated she was pulling up and heard a pop and there was a man weed-eating the parking lot and a rock hit her driver window causing a crack. Officer spoke with offender who stated it was an accident and her would pay for the damage so officer advised both parties to swap information and a report would be made.
Officers were dispatched to Lambs Bridge Rd. in reference to an animal call. Officers observed one injured goat and two dead goats in the pen. Complainant stated this is the second incident where a dog has attacked and killed his livestock. AC1 advised he would put traps out in an attempt to catch the dogs.
Officer responded to WalMart in reference to complainant stating his truck’s trailer hitch was missing.
Officer went to N. Green St. and spoke with complainant who stated some juvenile kids are bullying her grandsons at school and at home. C/p advised the kids go to the corner of the streets calling them names and will cuss at them and tries to get them to go to the road to fight. C/p also stated she has been to the school and spoken with SRO and Admin., but nothing ever gets done about it. Officer then spoke with the mother of the juveniles, and she advised the other kids keep harassing her kids on the bus and at school.
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated offender has been texting her from multiple numbers demanding money and threatened to kill her, show explicit pictures and keeps harassing her about money.
Officer spoke with complainant in reference to her elder father potentially being financially exploited and abused. C/p stated her 90-year-old father has been in a relationship with a female since in or around 2020 and believes her intent is to take advantage of and exploit him financially due to several incidents that happened since the beginning of their relationship. C/p stated she is concerned about her father due to the fact he has had memory loss since 2019 and been diagnosed with dementia and several major medical conditions. C/p stated that her father has not been taking his medications properly nor has he had the medical attention he needs since being in a relationship with the female. She further stated her father has been in and out of the hospital and has had two strokes, with the most recent one being this month and her father drove seven miles to her farm and had suffered paralysis including slurred speech and loss of majority of function to his right side. C/p stated her father stated that the female was aware of his condition because she saw him that morning and cooked him breakfast but failed to seek medical attention, and he is currently in EMC Nursing Home due to the stroke. C/p also advised that she feels her father is being taken advantage of by the female because the female moved him to Statesboro a few years ago without informing any family members and closed his bank account in Swainsboro and opened one in Statesboro that his SS check is being deposited into, and the female was on his account but has been removed. C/p advised she has recently learned that her father and the female are legally married. She stated the marriage license was applied for in June 2023, but the marriage certificate was not filed until July 2024 in Jenkins County, which is odd because the female decided to keep her maiden name. C/p also advised her father’s DOB is wrong on the marriage certificate.
Officer observed a vehicle with a defective taillight and brake light, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Driver did not have a license but provided his passport. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
April 18
Officer was dispatched to Modoc Rd. in reference to a suspicious person. Complainant advised offender was observed in their yard and left in described vehicle. Officer observed a vehicle and male subject matching the description parked on the side of the roadway and he stated he was looking for a check he lost. Officer received offender’s info and was found to have suspended license and an active warrant through Douglas Co. Douglas Co. wanted a hold placed and offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to Family Dollar in reference to a shoplifter. It was discovered that offender had also stolen form Dollar Tree. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
April 19
Officer was dispatched to Pratt Ave. in reference to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old male damaging his mother’s property. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to Emanuel Janitorial in reference to a vehicle hitting the building. The driver was in the back seat upset and stated his foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator.
Officer was dispatched to Lindsey Rd. in reference to a domestic dispute.
April 20
Officers were dispatched to Allen St. in reference to an unwanted male subject making threats to kill complainant.
Officers were dispatched to Stevens Drt. In reference to a vehicle break-in. Complainant stated several items had been disturbed or stolen.
Officers were dispatched to W. MLK Blvd. in reference to complainant stating her son received death threats.
Officer responded to WalMart in reference to a TPO violation.
Officer responded to W. Moring St. in reference to prowlers.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on E. MLK Blvd. for no insurance. Vehicle was towed.
Officer was dispatched to Lewis St. in reference to a female on the phone crying and saying she needed to be picked up. Victim advised she and her boyfriend got into an argument, and she forced him of the residence, and he broke the window to make entry into the residence.
