Rosie Lee “Lena” Nobles, age 84, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, October 28, at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Garfield.
Rosie Lee was born June 14, 1939, in Summertown, to the late Samuel “Mutt” Jenkins and Cora Lockhart Jenkins. At a young age, Rosie Lee gave her life to the Lord and served faithfully as a member of Johnson Grove Baptist church. In life, Rosie was able to show the love of Christ to family, friends and strangers. Mrs. Nobles is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Nobles; son, Wallace Nobles, grandson, Mitchell LaShon Nobles; siblings, Woodrow Jenkins, Lottie Mae Lewis, Walter Jenkins, Agnes Warner, James Jenkins, Leroy Jenkins and Melrose Jenkins.
Mrs. Nobles leaves to cherish her memories with her sons, Robert (Ave) Nobles of Swainsboro and Ralph Nobles of Forest Park; daughters, Patricia (Larry) Jester of Clarkson, Caroline Nobles of Decatur, Mary Dawson of Swainsboro, Dollie Nobles of Lithonia and Aleshia (Kenneth) Durden of Twin City; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
