Robert “Bobby” Miley Kimball, Jr., 82, of Twin City, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Funeral services were Friday, March 28, at 1 p.m. at Rosemary Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Sam Bowen and Elder Craig Lanier officiating. Interment followed at Hebron Primitive Baptist Church in Garfield. Family received friends one hour prior to services.
Bobby was born December 26, 1942, in Twin City, the oldest of four, to the late Robert Miley Kimball and Ouida Pearl Hutto Kimball. He graduated from Emanuel County Institute in 1960. After high school, Bobby moved to the Atlanta area where he met and married Anne Sue Womack of Gadsden, AL. Bobby and Sue had two sons, Robert Keith and Richard Greene. In Bobby’s time in the Atlanta area, he held various positions for Robert Shaw Controls and Carrier Air Conditioning – winning many citations, awards and promotions. Bobby married Rita Watson Loska of Waycross in 1979 and became a stepfather to her two sons, Joseph Loska of San Diego, CA and Scott Loska of Marietta. Bobby and Rita moved to Vidalia in 1991, where he took on the job of HVAC instructor at Southeastern Technical Institute. He retired from Southeastern Technical Institute in 2011 and relocated to Twin City, back to his ancestral home. Bobby was very active in coaching youth baseball and football teams, winning many championships and impacting countless young men, many of whom still speak fondly of him and remember his strict but fair coaching style. A teacher at heart, Bobby also had many former students who credit him with helping them become successful business owners. He was known for his tireless work ethic and willingness to help those less fortunate than himself. Bobby spent his life being a good friend, a helpful neighbor and a champion of rescue and stray animals. He was a member of Rosemary Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Kimball is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Johnny Ray Kimball.
Mr. Kimball is survived by his sons, Keith Kimball (Wendy) of Richmond Hill and Rick Kimball (Darcy Young) of Suwanee; brother, Luke Kimball (Libby) of Brooklet; sister, June Howell of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Colby Kimball and Emma Kimball; and many friends.
