The Twin City Lions Club recently held their monthly lunch meeting at Simply Southern in Twin City. Lion Nick Kraus invited Terry Reynolds with Wounded Warriors Retreat to speak to the group. Mr. Reynolds is a Vietnam Vet and has been working with WWR for 14 years and is currently the President. It was shared with the club that 22 military veterans per day commit suicide mostly due to the depression they deal with from their combat missions they served on for our country. WWR builds relationships with veterans and the volunteers take time to get to know them and let them know that people appreciate them, care about them and are thankful for what they’ve done for our country. WWR prioritizes getting the vets outdoors to enjoy hunting and fishing time between the vets and local volunteers. They even build deer stands that are accessible to disabled vets. They have served over 800 veterans in the last 14 years. The program is Christian based and 100% volunteer.
