Mr. Raymond “Bean” Morris, 61, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023, at his residence following an extended illness. Memorial service was held Monday, December 18, at 11 a.m. at Corinth Church with Rev. Wes Webb officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to service.
Raymond was born December 27, 1961, to the late Mrs. Joann Pollett and Shefftal “Shep” Morris. He was a lifelong resident of Norristown. “Bean” and his wife, Susan, attended Corinth Church in Johnson County. He graduated high school from Adrian School of Performing Arts in 1979. “Bean” also went on to attend college at East Georgia College in Swainsboro where he became the ping pong champion. He also served in the United States National Guard. “Bean” worked as a painter for B&B painting with his lifelong friend and business partner, Brent Mann. He retired at the age of 60 due to health reasons. “Bean” and Susan were married on November 16, 2019. His family and friends will all agree that meeting Susan was the best thing to ever happen to him. “Bean’s” smile was brighter because of her. Some of his favorite things to do included sitting on his back porch enjoying nature and watching birds. “Bean” loved nature and all animals. He loved Star Wars and all things Space related. Mr. Morris is preceded in death by his parents; and sister; Tracy Short.
In addition to his loving wife, Susan Morris, Mr. Morris is survived by his son, Brandon (Sara) Morris of Swainsboro; two stepdaughters, Josie Blair of Bethesda, Maryland and Francie Blair of Boulder, Colorado; brother, Ashley (Gayla) Pollett of Norristown; sister, Carla (Darren) Boyette of Norristown; and three grandchildren, Zaylee Morris, Maddox Morris and Genson Ray Morris, all of Swainsboro; nieces and nephew, Jessica (William) Drew of Norristown, Harli Moore of Norristown, Derek (Ashlee) Sharpton of Texas and Jada Pollett of Norristown; aunt, Deborah Johns of Metter; uncle, Hugh (Kathy) Durden of Tampa, Florida; several great-nieces and nephews; adopted brother, Brent Mann; three fur babies that were the love and light of his life and gave him joy like no other, Gypsy, Buddy and Cooper.
