Rayleigh Faircloth was dominant in the circle, as the right-handed pitcher rang up 12 strikeouts in David Emanuel Academy Middle School Eagles’ 12-3 victory over Twiggs Academy on Monday, September 23. Rayleigh gave up three hits and three runs over five innings while walking two. The Eagles opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, thanks to two triples. The Eagles first got on the board when Kate Youmans tripled, scoring one run. The Eagles added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Twiggs Academy committed an error, and Sophie Young hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. DEA added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Kaley Flowers doubled, Kate hit an inside the park home run, Twiggs Academy committed an error, and Lara McNure tripled, each scoring one run. The Eagles accumulated 12 hits in the game. Kaley, Kate, Evie Moore, and Lara each collected two hits for David Emanuel Academy Eagles. Kate and Sophie each drove in two runs for the Eagles.
