On Friday December 13, 2024, Assistant Fire Chief Frank Nasworthy worked his last on-duty shift with the Swainsboro Fire Department ending a 40 year career. Recently, family, friends and co-workers gathered at Fire Headquarters to honor him. After a meal of hot dogs and fixings, he was presented with two gifts. First Lieutenant Farley presented him with a humorous gift of a toy fire department from his old shift. Next, Chief Alima Mims presented a plaque with a fire axe and inscribed “Presented to Assistant Chief Frank Nasworthy in recognition and sincere appreciation of your 40 years of distinguished service. You consistently demonstrated bravery, integrity, and commitment at the highest level. You have set a professional example for generations of firefighters to follow. 1984 – 2024”.
