Mrs. Mary Louise Taylor, age 81, of Twin City, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025, at her residence. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 1, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Brother Curt Grimm officiating. Interment followed in Swainsboro City Cemetery. Family received friends one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers were Tyler Flakes, Hunter Hooks, Raymond Ramirez, William Colley, Ethan Cowart and Andrew Robertson.
Mary was born September 6, 1943, in Grundy, VA, to Ayers Colley and Sally Johnson Colley. She loved to watch wrestling, travel, and spend time with her family. Mary’s children and grandchildren were her greatest love. She loved her fur babies and a good breakfast and will be missed dearly. Mrs. Taylor is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude Taylor; daughter, Rita Malott; five brothers; and three sisters.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her sons, Harry Sumner (Lori) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Scott Colley (Lisa) of Wadley; daughters, Dawn Ramirez (Raymond) of Swainsboro and Sherrie Cowart (Chris) of Twin City; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mary’s caregiver, Ms. Sharonda Archie, for all her care and compassion during her illness.
