Last Tuesday, May 21, Swainsboro High School Golfer Jackson Gray signed his National Letter of Intent to play collegiate golf at Brewton-Parker College. The signing ceremony for the SHS senior was held at the college where Jackson was joined by his family. Gray played baseball for Swainsboro for the two previous years before beginning his golfing pursuits this year. He quickly excelled in the sport, finishing fourth, fifth, and seventh at the scored competitions he competed in. His season concluded with an eighth-place finish in the Region Tournament held at Applewood Golf Course in Keysville, Ga. The Tigers, as a team, finished fourth in the tournament after losing to Bryan County in a playoff for a chance to head to the state tournament. Shortly after, Gray was offered a scholarship and a spot on the BPC Golf team by Coach Mark Davidson. ‘I’m thankful for the opportunity Coach Davidson has given me to further my education and athletic career,” said Gray. ”I can’t wait to get started.” Gray will head to school in August and prepare for his first season of College Golf.
