As we celebrate Independence Day, let’s remember how blessed we are to be a part of the great nation, the United States of America.
The song ‘God Bless the USA,’ written and recorded by Lee Greenwood over 40 years ago, is still a popular pick by many, especially on July 4. The above photo of Greenwood was taken by Wanda Thompson Scarboro at McKinney’s Pond in the late 80’s.
And I’m proud to be an American, Where at least I know I’m free, And I won’t forget the men who died, Who gave that right to me, And I’d gladly stand up next to you, And defend Her still today, ‘Cause there ain’t no doubt, I love this land, God Bless the U.S.A.
The Forest-Blade will be closed Thursday and Friday, July 4 and 5. We hope everyone has a fun and safe Independence Day.
