The Georgia Bulldogs didn’t make the playoffs, which is the standard, but they made the most of their New Year’s Six bowl appearance. They headed down to Miami, Florida to take on Florida State, another team who many felt was wrongfully left out of the College Football Playoff. This game, which was expected, ended up being not even close as Georgia rolled to a 63-3 win. The 60 point victory is the largest in bowl game history. Dating back to last year’s National Championship, Georgia has now won their last two bowl games by an average of 59 points. Those numbers are insane. Even though the Dawgs didn’t get their shot at the CFP, they still showed out. If you watched the game, you may have noticed that former Swainsboro Tiger Demello Jones took the trip to South Beach with the team, he even got some screen time and sported the #1 on the sidelines. Jones just enrolled at the University at the start of the month. As for the current Georgia, they close the season with a 13-1 record, and look to be reloading heading into next year. They will return their quarterback Carson Beck, who was rumored to be leaving for the NFL draft. They will have to build around him with a young offense and defense, but Kirby Smart will no doubt have his Dawgs ready to go in game one.
