The Exchange Club of Swainsboro recently recognized Johnny Tapley, a Vietnam veteran, as the “Book of Golden Deeds” recipient for 2023-2204. Mr. Tapley’s selfless work with our veter-ans, and their many contributions of service-related activities in and around our communi-ties, are just a few of the reasons why Mr. Tapley is the ideal recipient of this year’s award.
Here are just a few of his many accomplishments: Tapley leads the local Franklin Memorial Library Veterans Group, he heads up the annual Wreaths Across America Event in Swains-boro and Emanuel County and he spearheaded the renaming and revamping of the Veterans and First Responders Park in Swainsboro. Thank you for your service, Mr. Tapley! Our com-munities are better because of service driven leaders like you.
