The East Georgia State College (EGSC) Disc Golf Club participated in the Rumble for the Refuge Disc Golf Tournament at J.R. Trippe Middle School in Vidalia, Georgia, on Saturday, March 8, 2025. This was a charity 18-hole tournament to raise funds for The Refuge, a shelter for women who have suffered from domestic violence and sexual assault.
The EGSC Disc Golf Team consisted of Derrick “DJ” Streetman, Philip McCants, Zariyah Cummings and Zoe “Rose” Carter. Professor Desmal Purcell and Dr. Alan Brasher were both in attendance with the group as the club advisors and coaches. EGSC also had several alumni players in the tournament. These players include Jordan Robins, Michael “Clem” Clements, Matt Bates and Grayson Johnson.
In the men’s division EGSC alumni Grayson Johnson took home second place and Clem Clements claimed third place. Zoe Carter placed third in the women’s division and alumni Jordan Robins placed first. Philip McCants won the Closest to the Pin Challenge for the tournament.
