Mr. William Turner was recently inducted into the Lions Club District 18N Hall of Fame at the District Convention held at the Barron W. Godbee Activity Center in Vidalia. The Twin City Lions Club was founded on February 20, 1964. Mr. Turner is a charter member of the club and since that first meeting, he has never missed a meeting of the civic organization. Perfect attendance for over 60 years! Mr. Turner has held every position in the club and is still the club’s Lion Tamer and is responsible for the upkeep of the clubhouse and is still active in renting the club out to the public. Mr. Turner’s son, Ricky Turner, accompanied him to the event, as well as club President Brandon Jones, 1st Vice-President Bill Rentfrow, and Secretary G.W. Johnson. John William Turner is the first member of the Twin City Lions Club to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
