The Fall Line Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution, held its monthly meeting Tuesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce building. With President Sandy Mercer presiding, they had 12 in attendance including four guests. After the invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, and the Pledge to the SAR, President Sandy called on Vice President Dess Smith III to introduce the program for the evening. VP Dess introduced Compatriot Hu Daughtry of the Mill Creek Chapter, Statesboro, to present his program on “Who is Kemp Creech”. Hu was accompanied by his wife Susan, from Metter. President Sandy then discussed with the Chapter how the Chapter can best help with the annual “Wreaths across American” being held this year on December 16. The Chapter is looking for any information on the burial sites of all Revolutionary War veterans buried in Washington County. There are over 80 buried there, but only a few with known burial sites.
