The Governor David Emanuel – Adam Brinson Chapter of the DAR and the Wiregrass Chapter of the SAR recently held their Annual Christmas Dinner event at the Methodist Church. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal and a wonderful time of fellowship. Live poinsettias, along with evergreens and berries, decorated the festive event. Wiregrass Chapter President Steve Burke and Regent Kay Lewis, Governor David Emanuel – Adam Brinson Regent chapter welcomed guests and led the program for the evening.
In the spirit of the holidays, guests were entertained with delightful music provided by Connie Peebles, Judy Womack, Bobby Reeves and Dess Smith. A drawing for door prizes topped the evening off. Jody Reynolds won the hand-crafted wooden jewelry box made by Dr. Lawson Lewis. Sherri Clifton was the winner of a home-made Sweet Pound Cake made by Burley Page.
The evening’s program included several presentations. The SAR awarded Gary Mason the prestigious Fred D. Womack Award. The DAR recognized members with notable anniversaries. The Membership Anniversary Award certificate was presented to Carol Parrish and Mary Smith for 10 years of membership. Ann Sheperd received the award for 15 years of membership. Meg Leonard was recognized for her membership and service of 55 years.
The event planning committee consisted of Chairman Jane Durden with Jill Briercheck, Kay Lewis, Teresa Mason and Connie Page serving as committee members. Heather Williamson catered the meal.
