Mr. Danny Frank “Cowboy” Thompson, 71, of Midville, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, at his residence. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 21, in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverends Jonathan Shepard and Jack Whitehead officiating. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday, December 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were his nephews. Honorary pallbearers were Glenn Nasworthy, Lynn Nasworthy, Phil Salter and Ronald Boatright.
Danny was born on March 17, 1952, in Swainsboro, to the late James Leon Thompson and Willie T. Ware Thompson. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator. Danny en-joyed operating heavy equipment and also loved to train and ride horses. He was a graduate of Adrian High School. Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jessica Thompson; and brother, James Bennie Thompson.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his son, Clint Thompson (Denise Braswell) of Swainsboro; daughter, Sera Harris of Warner Robins; special friend, Connie Jukes of Midville; brothers, Robert Thompson (Sandra) of Nunez, Mike Thompson (Linda) of Metter, Bill Thompson (Ann) of Twin City and Elmer Thompson (Jan Snooks) of Swainsboro; sisters, Pam Smith (Dorsey), Susan Smith (Johnny), both of Metter, Lucille Braswell (Don) and Patrice Thompson, both of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Taylor White, Breanna White, Jordan Thompson, Janah Hart (Justin), Kayla Norris and Karmen Thompson; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
