The Brier Creek Artillery traveled to Revolutionary War Fort Morris, “Come and Take It” event on Saturday, November 23, at 10 a.m. The Artillery group is made up of members of the Brier Creek Chapter and the Wiregrass Chapter. The event was the 246th Anniversary Commemoration of the Siege of Fort Morris that happened on November 25, 1778. When the British demanded surrender to which the Patriots defiantly replied, “Come and take It”. After the presentation of the colors, the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance, a program was presented of the 15 Historic Flags. After the speakers, the wreath presentations were held. There was a total of over 50 wreaths presented. This was followed by the three-round Musket and Canon volley Salute and then taps was played.
