Board of Education holds monthly meeting

The Emanuel County Board of Education met on Tuesday, November 12, at 5 p.m. at the Central Office for the swearing in of newly elected board members, Elizabeth DeVane and Jeanette Harden. The monthly regular meeting then started at 5:30 p.m. with the following members in attendance: Brandon Jones, Cherie Hooks, Del Brown, John Allen Bailey, Tanya Lane, Elizabeth DeVane and Jeanette Harden. Board Chair Del Brown welcomed everyone and congratulated the new board members calling the meeting to order. Brandon Jones delivered the invocation followed by John Allen Bailey leading the Pledge of Allegiance. John Allen Bailey made a motion to move item C to item A under the Superintendent’s comments and then to approve the agenda. Brandon Jones seconded the motion. Del Brown, Tanya Lane, Cherie Hooks, Brandon Jones, John Allen Bailey, Jeanette Harden and Elizabeth DeVane voted “yes”. CARRIED.

SUPERINTENDENT’S COMMENTS

Dr. Warnock welcomed everyone and thanked them for their time. She congratulated the new Board Members, the Emanuel County Institute Softball team and Teachers of the Year.
