Billy Dawson, age 69, passed away August 3, 2024. A Celebration of Life was held Friday, August 9, at 1 p.m. at Mosley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Leonard Richards officiating. Interment followed in Swainsboro City Cemetery.
Billy was born July 16, 1955, to the late Willie James Dawson, Sr. and Deatrice Dawson. He briefly served in the U.S. Army and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service until his health declined. Billy was a free-spirited, easy-going brother, father and antique collector. Mr. Dawson is preceded in death by his parents; grandmother/mother, Gertrude Dawson; brothers, Dewayne Dawson, Phillip Dawson, Danny Brigham and Leroy James.
Mr. Dawson leaves to cherish his memories with his partner of 32 years, Lillie Cuyler of Swainsboro; children, Randy Dawson of Dublin, Tiffany Cuyler of Statesboro, Maceo Cuyler and Robert Cuyler, both of Swainsboro; brothers, Willie (Sabrina) Dawson of Wadley and James (Gloria) Dawson of Swainsboro; sisters, Trudie Polen of Augusta, Mary (Jimmy) Archie of Swainsboro, Dianne (Curtis) Willis of Dublin, Willie Dean Parker and Francis Royal, both of Swainsboro; grandchildren; and a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
