Missy Turner, featured artist for Black History Month at The Kalmanson Gallery of Emanuel Arts Council, received a warm welcome at the opening reception for her exhibition on February 8.
A number of people from the local community and guests from Atlanta attended the show. The event was free and open to the public. The reception was provided by AKA and Friends. The national theme for Black History Month this year is “African-Americans and the Arts.”
Turner’s paintings will be on display at The Kalmanson Gallery until the last week of February. The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday, 12 noon to 3 p.m. or by appointment, and is located at 109 North Green Street in Swainsboro next to Bangles II Salon and Stewart’s Jewelers.
