Gerome Williams, 85

Mr. Gerome Williams, 85, of Swainsboro, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Friday, April 18, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Lamar Kersey officiating. Interment followed at Sardis Church Cemetery. Family received friends Thursday, April 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were J.J. Williams, Robert Williams, Terry Cox, Bennie Williams, Rock Hooks and Shane Futch.

Mr. Williams was born on March 5, 1940, in Swainsboro, to the late Warren Jackson Williams and Oca Rowland Williams. He was a retired carpenter. Gerome loved fishing, tinkering on cars, buying and selling cars and playing the lottery. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents; son, Warren Jerome “Jerry” Williams; daughter, Susan “Susie” Williams Hood; brothers, Bennie Sherril Williams, Lamar Williams, Elton (Ram) Williams and Rowland Williams; and sisters, Maxine Virginia Williams and Lynette Williams Watson.

Mr. Williams is survived by his daughters, Wendy (Lee) Kreutz of Richmond Hill and Nedra Wilkes (Dean) Hood of Kite; grandchildren, John David (Chelsea) Kreutz, Matthew Kreutz, Shelby Kreutz, all of Richmond Hill, Amanda Edenfield, Cera (Johnathon) Hood Scarborough, both of Kite, Eric (Victoria ) Hood of Fairview, NC., Brandon Hood, David Hood, both of Kite, Kelly (Jottie) Hood Burgamy of Wrightsville, J.J. (Dana) Williams, Jodi (Jeffrey) Williams Brown and Ashley (Dewayne) Williams Williford; sister, Edith (Edie) Williams Pundt of Wadley; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; brothers, Glen (Grace) Williams and Woody Williams, all of Kite; extended family, Jean Hendrix of Claxton, Scott and Felicia Glenn and family, Rusty and Jan Kangeter and family, Shana Richey and family, Jason Hendrix, Savannah Hendrix, and Lanna Todd; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
