Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…
April 7
Detective was positioned at the scene of a traffic stop being conducted by GSP. Upon making contact with Sgt., Det. was advised offender was found to be in possession of two clear plastic bags in his groin area containing 1.7 grams of marijuana and .6 grams of cocaine.
Officer observed offender known to have active probation warrants walking in the parking lot of Mike’s Food Mart. Offender was placed under arrest and transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to Citi Trends in reference to complainant stating her layaway items were gone and she would like her money back. C/p stated she had been paying for multiple items that she had on layaway and when she went to pay for them and get them off layaway, workers stated her items were no longer in the system. Officer asked c/p if she had any receipts from where she had been paying and when she provided them, officer noticed that the receipts had a notice on them stating that if payment was not paid as agreed, the items would be put back and layaway would cancel without notice. Officer spoke with the manager who stated c/p missed the payment on 4/4, therefore it was cancelled and put back in the store.
Officer observed a vehicle parked behind SPD and made contact with the vehicle and all occupants and the driver stated he needed to make a report. Complainant stated a friend told him about a Maseuse on an escort girls app so he downloaded the app and began searching for Maseuse but was unable to find it, so he deleted the app. C/p then stated that he began receiving calls and texts from the app manager telling him that he owed the girls money and their time was not free. C/p stated a price amount was never given and the messages began to get threatening and vulgar. Officer observed several threatening messages from three different numbers and a message including c/p’s mother’s address. Later, c/p received a text from one of the numbers saying, “this is a hitman” and told c/p to pay or die and sent graphic photos of a male, a photo of a high-powered rifle and a text that included c/p’s mother’s address and c/p’s full name.
April 8
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated he went to the tag office to purchase his vehicle tag, and they advised they mailed it over two months ago, but he never received it. It was discovered that the tag was mailed to the wrong address.
Officers were dispatched to S. Coleman St. in reference to theft of a u-haul. Officer noticed where the ground looked like a trailer had been taken away from the area but some part of it was dragging the ground causing gouge marks in the ground.
Officers were dispatched to N. Main St. in reference to complainant stated he rented a room from offender and found out offender did not own the house and will not answer c/p’s calls. C/p stated offender charged him $500 for rent and an additional $500 for a security deposit, then asked c/p to take her to the bus station in Dublin. C/p advised a male subject got home from the hospital and told c/p that he was the owner of the house and that no one was supposed to be there. C/p stated he then called offender to get his money back and she refused and blocked him. The owner of the house stated he had a firearm stolen and was unsure of anything else but would look around and let them know.
April 9
Officer was dispatched to Gumlog Rd. in reference to complainant stating she left $380 in her vehicle and it was missing. C/p stated her juvenile son asked to use some money for a dinner he was going to, and she told him to get $20 from her car. C/p later discovered that all her money was missing. After reviewing camera footage, c/p’s son was seen entering the vehicle and look around anxiously as if checking the area for anyone, then putting a handful of money in his front pocket.
Officer observed a vehicle traveling 48 MPH then 51 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and a small child was in the vehicle. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer responded to Harmon Park in reference to a vehicle in the ditch. The driver stated he tried to pull through the ditch and his vehicle bogged down in a wet area.
Officer responded to Oaklawn Dr. in reference to an attempted burglary into a shed. Complainant stated he found a lock picking tool near his shed and thinks he may have sacred the offender off.
Officer was dispatched to Harvey’s in reference to a hit and run. Complainant stated a truck hit her vehicle and after she confronted the driver, he drove off.
Officer was dispatched to Lee St. in reference to terroristic threats.
Officers were dispatched to Norwood Ave. in reference to a complaint of an assault and threats involving a firearm. Complainant stated she allowed her 15-year-old son to walk to the basketball court on King Circle Dr. and while he was there, he encountered two male subjects that previously threatened him for unknown reasons, and they made a phone call and began provoking his verbally using obscene language and threats of violence. Attempting to avoid conflict, c/p’s son left walking toward his residence and realized he was being followed by four male subjects. When they caught up with him, they began taunting him in an attempt to provoke a fight. He stated that one struck him in the back of the head, and another grabbed him and pointed a metal handgun at his head and threatened to blow his head off, so he dropped to the ground with open hands and the group struck him multiple times. Since the incident, victim and his sister have received threats from the group using several phone numbers. Complainant expressed concern for her children’s safety, especially regarding their return to school and was informed that the SRO would be notified immediately.
Officer was dispatched to EMC in reference to a family member hitting a patient. The patient advised officer that he told his sister he was not going home with her, and she got upset and struck him in the face. He also advised that kids are getting abused at his sister’s home. A Nurse Tech was in the room and witnessed the incident and gave her statement. Offender was approached and instructed to stand up and she stated she was not going to jail and sat back down. Officers had to physically assist her up and she tried to pull away and resist. Two individuals were with offender and told her to stop resisting because officers were just doing their job. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
April 10
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated her husband found a motor for sale on Marketplace and talked back and forth with the seller and agreed to pay $1,050 for it. Once they sent the money, they never received any replies back.
Officer was dispatched to Booker St. in reference to complainant stating she heard a window shatter at the residence next to the church and went over there and saw a male juvenile running from the scene. C/p stated she followed the juvenile home and spoke with him, but did not want to get the juvenile in trouble.
Officer was dispatched to Industrial Way in reference to credit card fraud. Complainant stated a male subject went to the store and purchased $899.37 in home goods on a credit card and received notice that the card company made a dispute against the purchase. Officer was able to see security footage of the male subject in the store, then leave after loading up the materials he purchased.
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated her mother had been harassing her for appx. two years because she had to move out of her mother’s residence to get away from her. C/p stated her mother called her and accused her of stealing two horse bits and two pairs of pants. C/p also stated that her mother’s only source of income is from her ex-husband through the divorce, and it is running out and she has been harassing her now.
Officers were dispatched to E. Main St. in reference to a call about an unresponsive female. Complainant showed officer over to victim who was slouched over in her recliner. He stated he last talked to her the night prior, and she was having a bit of laboring breathing. Officer could not find a pulse and EMS arrived.
April 11
Officers were dispatched to O’Reilly’s in reference to an employee being threatened by a customer. Complainant stated a male subject went into the store and was apparently upset about an incident that had previously taken place in the store because he felt like an employee overlooked him. C/p stated offender told her he would cut her with his knife and witness stated offender said he would cut her throat. Offender stated he was in the store joking with them, but he never stated he would cut her throat. He stated another employee upset him because he feels like the employee is racist and while he was standing at the counter to check out, the employee checked out someone that was behind him. Offender was advised not to return to the store.
Officers were dispatched to Gumlog Rd. in reference to people arguing and yelling. Officer advised there was an irate person on the back side of the apartments, so officers went to where she was. Complainant stated she and her friend were standing outside watching a fight a few apartments down and after the fight, offender went running down to where they were and jumped on her. Officers were speaking with offender, and they could smell the odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her person. Offender was being very irate, then could calm down and become irate again. She admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages. Offender was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct and transported to EmCo Jail.
April 12
Officer observed a vehicle with no tag lights, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Upon running the tag, it was discovered that the vehicle did not have valid insurance and the registration was suspended. Vehicle was towed and driver was issued citations.
Officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at two stop signs, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Driver stated he knew he ran the stop signs but was having a family emergency. Officer could smell the odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the driver and his eyes had a glassy look. Officer also observed two open containers in the vehicle and the driver stated his license are suspended. Driver was asked to step out of the vehicle and asked to perform a field sobriety test and PBT and he said he would. Offender showed signs of DUI and was transported to EmCo Jail.
April 13
Officers were dispatched to Gumlog Rd. in reference to a dispute. Complainant stated her boyfriend/offender had another girl at his residence and they were smoking crack, and they got into an argument.
Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to caller stating she needed a report due to an individual that violated a TPO.
Complainant stated she wanted a welfare check done on her daughter because she has mental disabilities and suicidal tendencies. Officers spoke with the daughter who stated her mother uses this as a tactic to harass her and this had been an issue for the past wo years. She advised that she and her mother have a rocky relationship and it’s gotten worse since she left home in Dawsonville to attend GSU. Officer asked if she has any diagnosed mental illnesses due to her mother giving that info and she stated she does not and she is tired of the tactics and back and forth toxicity from her mother.
