The Twin City Lions Club recently held their monthly lunch meeting at Simply Southern Restaurant in Twin City. Lion Tommy Neal invited Emanuel County Extension Agent Savannah Tanner to be the guest speaker. Ms. Tanner spoke to the club about gardening tips, as spring is right around the corner. Among the many suggestions discussed were various varieties that are best to plant in our area, the benefits of doing a soil sample each year, the need for crop rotation in our gardens and various ways to maintain a healthy and productive garden. Ms. Tanner is always available to meet with the public to discuss your garden and ways she may be able to help make it successful. Ms. Tanner said we can also email her quality pictures of issues with our gardens and many problems she can address with just a picture.
