On Friday, February 28, Twin City Elementary honored Black History Month with two inspiring performances of “The Spirit of Freedom.” The programs highlighted the achievements of African Americans through music and educational presentations.
The first program featured performances by kindergarten, first, and second graders, along with the school’s music club. The young students delighted the audience with songs they had learned, honoring influential figures and the contributions of African Americans throughout history.
Later, the second program showcased the talents of third, fourth, and fifth graders, also accompanied by the music club. These older students continued the theme of celebrating African American excellence by sharing powerful messages through music and historical reflections. Mr. Adam Akridge, TCE’s music teacher, closed the program and thanked the guests for coming. The school extends its gratitude to all the students, teachers, and staff who contributed to making the event a success.
