Swainsboro Rotary holds meeting

The Swainsboro Rotary club met at the Rustic Grill Monday, January 27, at 12 p.m. President Zack Proctor called the meeting, and the club recited the 4-way test, invocation and the pledge.

New business for the club was the upcoming Pine Tree Festival Beauty Pageant which will be held Saturday, April 26. Lynn Brinson introduced the guest speaker, Brooke Marsh, Emanuel Medical Center Emergency Room Department Manager and Trauma Department Manag-er. She gave an update on the remodeling project that was being done at the Emergency Room area. The completion date should be April 2025. This will enlarge the Emergency De-partment, and the staff will be better able to handle the incoming patients. Grant money was obtained to do this work on the hospital. There will also be a silent auction on Thursday, Feb 6, at the Nordson Center to raise money for the hospital. This event will start at 6 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend. The meeting was adjourned, and the next meeting will be Monday, February 3.
