January 24
Officer was dispatched to W. Church St. in reference to a subject that had been stabbed. Fe-male subject advised she and the male subject got into a physical altercation and the male tried to hit her with a chair and she used a knife to defend herself. Officers made contact with the male subject at another residence who stated he and the female got into a verbal al-tercation, and he tried to shut the door to his room to get a way from her and she kept open-ing the door to continue arguing with him. Male subject showed officer a video that showed a verbal disagreement him trying to shut the door and the female kept trying to go in his room. Male subject stated when the female tried to stab him, he left the residence. Officer then informed the female she was being arrested for aggravated assault and was transported to EmCo Jail.
Complainant stated someone tampered with a water meter on Hwy 56 North. C/p advised two males repeatedly turned off the water to his residence in an attempt to redirect water flow to a nearby trailer park to improve water pressure there. C/p stated he contacted the water company and advised of the situation, and they responded and turned the water back on and placed a lock on the water meter. Shortly after, offenders returned an attempted to tamper with the water meter again. Officer spoke with the city water company who advised the water had been turned off due to a busted pipe which was interfering with the water supply to other customers and explained the water would remain off until the issue was fixed.
January 26
Officer responded to Lee St. in reference to a large crowd in the street fighting and shots be-ing fired. Officer observed a crowd of people on the side of the road yelling about fighting and shooting guns. Complainant stated she did not know what started the fight or who fired the gun, and she was trying to get smaller children inside. C/p pointed out two sub-jects who were involved and had been sprayed with pepper spray. Officer made contact with the two subjects and asked if they needed medical attention and they both refused treat-ment.
Officer observed a vehicle starting and stopping and noticed the passenger to be a known illegal drug user, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Offender was found to have crack on his person and was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer responded to West St. in reference to an armed robbery. Complainant stated he was walking to his vehicle when an unknown offender stepped out from behind a car, pointing a gun, and hit him in the head with the handgun.
Officers were dispatched to Lucky Spot in reference to two females walking in the roadway. One was very upset with lacerations to both arms and neck and, would not speak or comply with officers, accompanied by her mother, father and aunt. Officer removed broken glass from victim’s pocket that had blood on them used to scratch herself. Victim was transported to EMC ER where she refused to exit the vehicle. Victim was wheeled into the ER and began spitting and attempting to bite officers. After being placed in leg irons, she began calming down and asked for something to drink. She was given something to drink and apologized. The leg irons were removed and victim stated she was going to be nice to everyone and began acting like a completely different person.
January 27
Officer was dispatched to Industrial Way in reference to a vehicle stuck in the ditch. The driver stated accidentally hit the ditch. Officer immediately detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver’s person, his eyes were red and glossy, he was slurring and lost his balance. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to EMC ER in reference to a theft. Complainant stated he went to the hospital for a medical emergency and his license plate was missing.
January 28
Officer observed a vehicle with a temporary tag that expired 10/11/24. The vehicle failed to maintain lane, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Driver stated he has a tag but does not have the tools to put it on so he left the temporary tag on it. Officer ran the vehicle information to find it was uninsured, as well as the tag being expired. Vehicle was towed.
January 29
Officers were dispatched to N. Coleman St. in reference to complainant’s vehicle being dam-aged through the night.
January 30
Officer observed a vehicle with no headlights on, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Driver provided his info and came back no record. The vehicle was found to be stolen out of Columbus, GA. Driver and passenger were transported to EmCo Jail.
January 31
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated her vehicle had been hit while she was at work.
