Mother Annie Florence Lovett, age 77, departed this life on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta. A Celebration of Life was held Thursday, December 12, at 2 p.m. at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Annie was born April 12, 1947, to the late Claxton and Elizabeth Washington Mills. She was known for her devotion to God, her family and her community. Annie was a woman of great faith, love and kindness. She loved her family deeply. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter and joy as she cherished every moment with them. Annie worked many years as a machine operator at E-Z Mills and Keller’s. However, working at Emanuel County Head Start brought her the greatest joy. She adored working with children and embraced her role there with a heart full of love and happiness. Ms. Lovett is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eliza Atkins; and brother, Linzie Mills.
Ms. Lovett leaves to cherish her memories with her children, Sharon Bowers (Henri), Patrina Bright (Alexander) and Dorsey Lovett, Jr. (Maresa); nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters; one brother; and a host of extended family and friends.
