On November 21, the Emanuel County Institute JROTC cadets traveled to Georgia Southern University to discover the benefits of participating in GSU’s ROTC program. The JROTC lesson of the week focused on the post-secondary action plans, which informed cadets about their career, college, and scholarship opportunities after high school. Current participants in GSU’s ROTC program shared their positive experiences with the cadets. The highlight of the day was a tour of the Georgia Southern campus showcasing student life. The cadets learned that participation in the ROTC program does not prevent them from participating in other college activities such as sports and clubs. It allows them to have the full college experience. The trip was a success for these juniors and seniors as they learned about post-secondary career and college opportunities.
