The Swainsboro Rotary club met at the Rustic Grill for their weekly meeting on Monday, November 25. President Zack Proctor called the meeting to order, and the club recited the four-way test and the pledge. Wade Johnson gave a brief update on the Wounded Warriors banquet that was held on Saturday, November 21, at Beaver Creek Plantation. The Rotary club works in conjunction with Terry Reynolds and the Wounded Warriors organization to raise money for this great cause.
Chu Lin Ooi introduced the speaker for the meeting, Melissa Kirby, Swainsboro Downtown Development Director. She gave an update on the Theatre renovations. Mrs. Kirby presented a video of the updates and gave some details on the renovations. Also, the Children’s Christmas Project was discussed, and Kristen Hall will give an update next week. Rotary Club purchases gifts for children during this season, wraps them, and makes sure they are delivered to the appropriate person for delivery to the children and families.
