Learning the importance of the United States Flag: ECI JROTC Cadets’ Experience

On August 26, 2024, ECI JROTC Cadets learned the importance of the United States Flag and how to fold it properly. Sergeant First Class Nelson taught the cadets how to fold, hoist, and lower the flag. They also discussed the flag’s significance and what it represents to them. During the flag folding, they learned about the symbolism behind each of the 13 folds. Additionally, they learned about the meanings of the flag’s colors: white symbolizes purity and innocence, red represents hardiness, and blue symbolizes vigilance, perseverance, and justice. The cadets gained an understanding of the flag’s significance to the American people and its representation of the sacrifices made by those who have served and continue to serve our country.
