The Swainsboro Tigers baseball team (12-3) made an emphatic statement last week in region play, dismantling the East Laurens Falcons in all three games and remaining undefeated (6-0) in region competition. The Tigers won the three-game set by a combined score of 41-9.

Swainsboro’s offense has been front and center stage all season. The Tigers have scored in double digits in six of the past seven games and East Laurens could not slow the train headed their way. In game one of the series in East Laurens, Lenox Lively started on the hill and was impressive, going all five innings, allowing only one hit and 11 strikeouts. The offense for the Tigers controlled the game, collecting 11 hits and capitalizing on seven walks for a 14-3 victory. Peyton Mason led the way with three hits, including two doubles. Gabe Conley and DJ Stanford added triples and Brice Marchman also contributed two knocks for Swainsboro to get the series opening win.

On Thursday, Swainsboro hosted East Laurens for a double header. In game one on Thursday, Mason pitched nearly six innings and claimed the win. Swainsboro again hit the ball well, adding 12 more hits in the 13-3 victory. Conley was 3-4 with two doubles. Brandon Chapman and Caden Daley each had two hits for the Tigers.

In game two of the double header, Chapman pitched five innings, allowing only four hits while striking out 10 batters. Swainsboro completed the three- game sweep with a 15-3 victory. The Tigers added 11 more hits to the scoreboard, with Mason going 3-4 and Ashton Deloach going 3-3. Chapman added a double and Jeffery Webb tripled for the flaming-hot Tigers.

Swainsboro looks to stay perfect in region play this week against the Dublin Irish. The Tigers play road games on Tuesday and Friday and will host the Irish on Thursday at Tiger Field. All games are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
