The Twin City Lions Club held their monthly lunch meeting at Simply Southern restaurant in Twin City on Thursday, December 7. Secretary G.W. Johnson invited the Director of the Sunshine House, Carol Donaldson, to be the guest speaker. Mrs. Donaldson spoke to the club about its history from when it was founded until present day. She also talked about how many young lives the organization has touched and how many children they’ve helped over the decades. She also talked about the budget cuts they’ve experienced due to cuts in federal grants and how the need for donations is higher than ever so they can continue to help the abused children in the surrounding area. The club donated $500 to the Sunshine House as they’ve done for many years. “We are so thankful for The Sunshine House and the role it plays in our community,” said Lions Club President Brandon Jones.
